Availability:

Spaces are reserved for the Presbytery of Detroit at the Presbyterian Disaster
AssistanceCamp in Pearlington, Mississippi.  We are especially looking for people with
construction skills.  Reservations are taken on a first come first serve basis upon receipt of
deposit. There are 74 spots available.

Cost/Reservations:
Cost is $225 per person per week.  A $100 deposit per week is due with application to
secure a reservation (non-refundable after 3/1/09). Send your application along with your
deposit made out to “Presbytery of Detroit” to Katrina 7 Trip, c/o Mary Garlough, 1164
Nottingham, Grosse Pointe Park, MI.  48230-1340.  Balance due 3/1/09 prior to departure.
Scholarships are available.        

Travel:
Travel is by personal vehicles – each church responsible for transporting participants to
Pearlington, Mississippi. Total Est. Time: 16 hours; Total Est. Distance: 1,050 miles.

Climate:
Late March in Pearlington - Highs in 70’s, Lows in 50’s

Lodging and Meals:
Hotel stay on travel days to and from Pearlington included in trip fee.  Accommodations on
location:  camp setting with hard sided tents (heated and cooled) or Quonset huts, cots,
hot  showers, and portable bathrooms. Hot meals prepared in adequate kitchen by our
volunteer staff, served in a large dining tent.
